She is International human rights lawyer and has worked with the United Nations for 16 years in different capacities, in Geneva,  Kenya and in Zimbabwe. She has also worked with Save the Children Norway in Uganda, as the Program Manager-Social Protection and with other NGOs  in diverse areas of human rights.

She has benefitted from several leadership trainings including the EMERGE leadership program for UN women leaders . Her experiences in this program inspired her work on women’s rights and led her to Co-found Phenomenal Women Global (PWG) in 2018.Liza also attended the  Women and Power Professional Course at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in May 2022 and was visiting scholar at Harvard University Law School in 2013.

Following her role as a High Court Judge, she became the first female Attorney General of the Republic of Botswana and is a founding member of many women’s rights organizations at national and regional levels.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Botswana and Swaziland, a Masters in Law from Yale Law School, and a PhD in Law from Leiden University.In Geneva,  She is the 2022 Chairperson of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body and co-Chair (with Iceland and El Salvador) of the Informal Working Group on Women and Trade

She is a published scholarly author, a senior lecturer in law with the University of the Free State, South Africa, and Professor of Human Rights and Criminal Justice with the Global Humanistic University, Curaçao. She constituted the delegations of the Working Group that conducted the recent fact-finding missions to Switzerland and Portugal. She convenes ladies of African descent in her community under the auspices of Galwise Forum to explore contemporary issues of women today
